School Rankings by City, Now in 24 Cities around the United States!

Dear SchoolSparrow Community,

We have some exciting news to share, and you’re the first people we want to tell.

Since 2012, SchoolSparrow has been a trusted school rankings resource for families moving to the Chicago area. Our mission is simple:

To provide an alternative and equitable public K-12 school rankings that elevates disadvantaged schools, instead of favoring schools in privileged communities.

We believe in the uniqueness of every family’s school search. No two families are exactly the same, and no two school searches will be either! We value the priorities and goals that make your family’s school search unique.

We believe in transparency. School data should be available to everyone—at absolutely no cost.

Most of all, we believe America should have access to equitable school ratings. We’ve normalized our school rankings for parent income so you’ll find schools that others are missing because the schools have low rankings on other ranking websites. But we know that sometimes low test scores are simply a reflection of the socio-economic diversity of the school, not that it’s an underperforming school.

We’ve been living out this mission for eight years in the Chicago area. And today we’re excited to announce that we are expanding to cover 24 other metro areas around the United States, including San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, Indianapolis and Boston! (You can see a full list of the cities below.)

In the coming months, we’ll be connecting with real estate partners across the country, but in the meantime, all the school data is already available for free at https://schoolsparrow.com/

So whether you’re looking for the best elementary schools in Boston, the top schools in Denver, or the Out-Performers in your own Chicago neighborhood, we hope you’ll consider making us a part of your school + home search journey.

We can’t wait to see what comes next!
