The Best Elementary Schools in Las Vegas: SchoolSparrow’s Top 5 Out-Performers

Las Vegas & the Clark County School District

Las Vegas has the 28th largest population for a city in the United States. The city anchors the Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area and is an internationally renowned major resort city. Often called the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas is well-known for its shopping, fine dining, casinos, and nightlife. But that’s not all this city has to offer: below you’ll find the Top 5 Best Elementary Schools in Las Vegas.

The Clark County School District (CCSD), which provides primary and secondary public education in Las Vegas, is the fifth most populous school district in the nation. In fact, the CCSD served a total of 314,653 K-12th students during the 2013-2014 school year.

SchoolSparrow

SchoolSparrow has put together this list of 5 incredible schools in Las Vegas as part of our mission to provide equitable school rankings for America’s public K-12 schools.

The current school rankings that exist today are biased towards schools in wealthy neighborhoods. This is because the largest driver of test score performance at any school is family income. As a result, schools with socio-economic diversity are discounted on most school ranking websites.

SchoolSparrow has created a ranking system that normalizes for parent income. By elevating diverse schools, we turn the focus away from family income and towards educational excellence. Check out this blog post to learn more about how the dominant school ranking systems are misleading parents!

At SchoolSparrow, we are on a mission to provide all parents in the U.S. with equitable school rankings. Want to stay updated on our progress? Curious about how YOU can help in this fight?
